Cuban oregano herb

Cuban Oregano, also known as Spanish Thyme or Indian Borage, is a herbaceous perennial plant that is native to Southern and Eastern Africa, as well as the Indian Ocean islands.

It is a popular culinary herb in the Caribbean, Southeast Asia, and India, and is also valued for its medicinal properties. The plant grows to a height of about 30 to 60 centimeters (12 to 24 inches) and has fleshy, succulent leaves that are green with a slightly fuzzy texture. The leaves have a pungent, spicy aroma and a strong, slightly bitter taste. They are used fresh or dried to flavor soups, stews, meat dishes, and curries. In addition to its culinary uses, Cuban Oregano is also believed to have a range of health benefits, including promoting digestion, treating respiratory ailments, and relieving headaches. The plant is easy to grow and can be cultivated in pots or in the garden, provided it has well-draining soil and receives plenty of sunlight. It is also tolerant of drought and can be grown in a variety of soil types.
